Farmer Outreach Events
OSPUD farmers Jim Fields, Jeff Falen, and Josh Volk gave two presentations on the OSPUD Project and its outcomes in winter 2008. The first workshop was at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center Organic Agriculture Day in Aurora, Oregon, and the second was at the Oregon Tilth Conference in Salem, Oregon. Farmers developed their presentations around powerpoint slides prepared by OSU personnel for the last full group meeting. Each farmer spent approximately 8 hours preparing his presentation before the first workshop, and was compensated by project funds for his preparation time, presentation time, and travel. Laura Masterson (47th Ave. Farm) and Gwendolyn Ellen (OSU) will give a workshop on Ospud in November 2008 at the Washington Tilth Producers conference.
